I believe that the Montessori Method is the most satisfying way for a child to learn. My B.A. is in Early Childhood Education from the University of Central Florida. I have a current Professional Educator’s Certificate for Elementary Education grades K-6 and Prekindergarten/Primary Education age 2-6th grade. My Montessori Certification is from the American Montessori Society (AMS), NCME, and St. Nicholas. I have an Advanced Director’s Credential, and certified in CPR/First Aide.

I have a BA in Elementary Education and Special Education from Colegio Universitario Metropolitano, Puerto Rico, and Montessori Certification for ages 2-6, (AMS). I began teaching as a Montessori Teacher 1998, and have enjoyed working in Oviedo Montessori School since 2004. Montessori is a different method of learning, beginning with the teachers preparing the environment for the children. Montessori students learn through hands on experiences and work at their own pace, so a prepared environment is very important. Children work in a multi-age classroom where they can learn from their peers. I teach the children conversational Spanish, my first language, as well as help integrate new children that only speak Spanish. I attend seminars and workshops to keep my education current and am certified in CPR and first aide.

I have been teaching Montessori education for more than 10 years including teaching in Oviedo Montessori School since 2004. I have a BS in Math and Science from Bangalore University, India, as well as certified in CPR and First aide. I find the Montessori method very interesting because children learn at their own pace. The Montessori approach to education is consciously designed to recognize different learning styles. Montessori students learn through hands on experience. Its curriculum is carefully structured and integrated from concrete to abstract. The math curriculum at OMS now includes advanced algebra and geometry. I also lead the children in Yoga with storytelling. I continue to study the Montessori method to improve and update the program. Montessori education means a lot to me. It gives me great satisfaction when the children learn independently as a natural step in the learning process.
